At 13 o'clock Lithuanian time, the UEFA headquarters hosted the Champions League quarter-final draw ceremony.
On Wednesday, the group stage of the Champions League reached its final straight. Today, the 16 teams that have reached the quarter-finals were drawn into eight pairs.
London's "Arsenal" who finished first in Group A avoided potentially the strongest opponent. The draw determined that in the quarter-finals, the "Gunners" will face Munich's "Bayern", who have been a constant companion for the North Londoners in every season.
The winner of Group C, "Barcelona" club will face Paris Saint-Germain for the second consecutive year, while "Manchester City" will face a fairly favorable opponent - "Monaco".
The defending champions, Madrid's "Real" players will face "Napoli". Dortmund's "Borussia" awaits the challenge of Lisbon's "Benfica".
Meanwhile, England's champions, "Leicester City" players also drew a fairly favorable opponent - "Sevilla", who have not had any equals in the Europa League for the past four years.
The draw also decided that "Porto" will compete against Turin's "Juventus" and the finalists from last season, Madrid's "Atletico", will face Leverkusen's "Bayer".
The first quarter-final matches will begin on February 14-15 and 21-22 of the same month. The second leg matches will take place on March 7-8 and 14-15.
In the group stage, the teams that finished in second place will play the first leg of the quarter-finals at home, while the return matches will take place at the fortresses of the group winners.
