The Portuguese, who defended the title in the EURO 2020 tournament, completed their journey already in the quarterfinals, where they lost to Belgium with a minimal result of 0:1. Both teams started the match actively, but the first and, as it turned out later, the only goal of the match had to be waited until the 42nd minute, when Thorgan Hazard scored a fantastic goal. The Belgians lost one of their leaders early in the second half - Kevin De Bruyne left the field due to injury. Towards the end of the match, the Portuguese completely took the initiative and had several great chances to equalize, with Raphael Guerreiro even hitting the goalpost in the 83rd minute. However, the Belgians also had chances to secure their victory through counterattacks. Furthermore, towards the end of the match, the "Red Devils" lost another one of their leaders due to injury - Eden Hazard left the field. Belgium will face another serious test in the quarterfinals - a clash with the Italian national team.
