Today, in the Swiss city of Nyon, the UEFA Europa League draw took place. Eight teams that did not advance to the Champions League knockout stage will join the 24 teams who participated in the group stage of this tournament from the Round of 16.
One of them, "Porto," faces a tough challenge - the Portuguese club will meet Dortmund's "Borussia," currently in second place in the German league and just five points behind Munich's "Bayern."
Another interesting matchup will take place between London's "Tottenham" and Florence's "Fiorentina." The English team finished first in Group J and aims to achieve something meaningful internationally, while Fiorentina, currently in second place in "Serie A," will be a formidable opponent. The Italians eliminated them from the Europa League last season.
Manchester United will battle Herning's "Midtjylland," who defeated another Premier League club, Southampton, in the previous round.
Meanwhile, the two-time reigning Europa League champion, "Sevilla," will try to overcome "Molde," while last year's semi-finalist, "Napoli," will clash with "Villarreal."
The first matches will be played on February 18th, with the second leg on February 25th.
