Eurosport reports that Leicester City defender Riyad Mahrez will move to the Arsenal team in London in the near future.
According to the announcement, Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger wants to see the Algerian in his team, and the Arsenal team will pay a €50 million transfer fee for him. This would be the second painful blow to the English champions, who have already lost N`Golo Kante to Chelsea.
Earlier this week, speaking to Sky Sports, Leicester City coach Claudio Ranieri was convinced that the player would stay in the team.
"Everything is settled, despite all the attention Mahrez wants to stay with us," the Italian said at the time.
However, after Wenger's meeting with the player's agent in France, where Arsenal played a friendly match on Friday, it seems that Mahrez has changed his mind. According to Eurosport, the transfer should be officially announced in the coming days.
