On Tuesday, two more first-leg matches of the UEFA Champions League were played. Football fans did not see any goals in the evening - both matches ended goalless.
At "Anfield" stadium, "Liverpool" hosted the Munich "Bayern" footballers. The disciplined team of "Bayern" did not make mistakes in defense and left Liverpool without conceding a goal - 0:0.
Jurgen Klopp's team started the match much more actively - "Bayern" was welcomed in their own half, and defenders were not allowed to easily play the ball.
Both teams did not create many chances in the first half. The best opportunity to score for "Liverpool" was for Sadio Mane, but his left-foot shot was not accurate.
In the second half, "Bayern" tightened their defense even more, resulting in a lackluster performance in attack. However, "Liverpool" did not pose a significant threat to Manuel Neuer's goal and the match ended peacefully.
In the other match, "Barcelona" was unable to break through the defense of "Lyon" away. The Catalans dominated in creating chances, but the hosts held the intrigue until the second leg.
The visitors from Barcelona dominated almost the entire match, but the first real chance to score was for "Lyon," when the ball hit the crossbar after Martin Terrier's shot from Marc-Andre ter Stegen's hands.
Later, the guests had several good opportunities to score from the attacking trio - Dembele, Suarez, and Messi. However, none of them had a successful evening and the chances did not result in goals.
The second leg between these teams will be held next month on March 13th.
