Everton forward Oumar Niasse ran into trouble over the weekend - the player was arrested and charged with assault.
BBC reports that on Friday just after midnight, in Salford, police received a call, after which they arrested the Senegal national team member. The 26-year-old player was later released on bail.
An Everton representative stated that the team is aware of the investigation into the player's behavior and is awaiting further findings. He also emphasized that the team condemns any violent actions.
After joining from Moscow's Lokomotiv for £13.5 million in January, Niasse played only five matches in the Premier League this season and did not score any goals. By the way, after this transfer, Niasse became the third most expensive player ever acquired in Everton's history.
