Exclusive J. Mourinho press conference: anger, lessons, confusion, and journalist embrace (VIDEO)

After the Champions League match with Sevilla on Wednesday, Jose Mourinho once again slipped up at the post-match press conference.

Initially, the coach was annoyed by questions about Paul Pogba sitting on the bench, which journalists had prepared for him at the very beginning of the press conference.

„Three questions and they're all about P. Pogba. You have no other questions. You're always interested only in what doesn't play in matches,“ J. Mourinho observed.

Upon hearing the Portuguese's statement, one journalist soon came up with a much more original question. He asked whether J. Mourinho thought Alexis Sanchez is a player who performs best when given freedom or when he is confined to tactical frameworks. This question stunned the "United" coach, who gave an exceptional and lengthy response.

„What? I think all of you or at least most of you are in a completely different sport! In England, some people say that wingers don't have to defend. So next time I meet David Beckham, I'll ask him: David, when you played as a winger in the 'Manchester United' team and the opposing full-back attacked, did you just stand and watch from the stands? Did you come back and help your teammates defend? I'll definitely ask him that.

Everyone knows that I'm not the best friends with Roy Keane or Paul Scholes, but I'll ask them too: when your team lost the ball, did you withdraw? Did you just wander around the pitch in the same place?

Now it seems that in your opinion, all good players play freely no matter who has the ball, and that's a very silly belief. When your team has the ball - you attack. When your team doesn't have the ball - you defend. It's all so simple, but suddenly you started inventing a whole new sport. I don't see anything like that, because in all the best teams now all players work. Everyone sticks to tactical tasks and discipline,“ J. Mourinho concluded his monologue.

That evening, the weirdness didn't end: after the questions were over, a journalist approached the Portuguese and asked him to take a selfie with him, and the "Manchester United" coach seemed quite lost due to such a request. After taking a sip of water and feeling awkward in front of the camera, J. Mourinho finally couldn't stand it anymore and left the press conference, leaving the journalist who wanted a "selfie" with nothing.

Leaving the press conference, the Portuguese still had to answer a question for BT Sport television, and upon hearing that he would be asked about Scott McTominay, the Portuguese decided to hug the journalist who asked the question.

„Can I hug you? Thank you very much. Now this is a real question, because before that I was at the press conference and everyone was asking me about P. Pogba, and I think we should talk about this kid,“ J. Mourinho expressed his joy.
