Extra time may soon be eliminated from the Champions League.

Changes are brewing in the UEFA Champions League.

According to the German publication "BILD", UEFA is considering eliminating extra time in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

If confirmed, teams will move directly to a penalty shootout after two matches if the aggregate score is tied.

This rule is expected to come into effect from next season or in the near future.
