On Friday in Nyon (Switzerland), the draw for the 2020 European Championship playoff matches took place. 16 national teams will compete for the last four tickets to the main tournament stage.
National teams that have successfully performed in the UEFA Nations League have an extraordinary opportunity to qualify for the European Championship.
The playoff format is quite simple: four teams are divided into four baskets. In each basket, semi-finals and final matches will be played, and the winners of each basket will automatically advance to the continental championship.
In basket A, Iceland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary will compete, in B - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland, Slovakia, Ireland, in C - Scotland, Israel, Norway, Serbia, in D - Georgia, Belarus, North Macedonia, Kosovo.
The semi-finals will be played on March 26 of next year, and the finals will be held on March 31 of the same month.
