The legend of the German national team Franz Beckenbauer believes that it is now the most suitable time for Mats Hummels to leave Dortmund's "Borussia" and move to the "Premier" League.
The 26-year-old defender has always repeated that he is loyal to BvB, but this week he mentioned for the first time that he will consider his future after the season.
For a long time, the German has been linked with the "Manchester United" club.
"26 years old is the most appropriate time for Hummels to move to England," - Benckenbauer told Bild. "I understand that very well."
Beckenbauer himself played for Munich's "Bayern" for 13 years, but admitted that at the same age he almost ended up at Milan's "Inter".
"In 1966, I had signed a pre-contract with Inter. However, at that time Italy closed its borders and I did not go to Milan."
Hummels, who was appointed team captain last summer, still has a contract with the club for two more years.
