After years of the European Championship, when Antonio Conte steps down from his position as the coach of the Italian national team, Fabio Cannavaro would like to take over his position.
The current "Azzurri" strategist has already announced his return to club football and it is believed that he will become the manager of London's "Chelsea."
Meanwhile, Cannavaro, who has played 136 matches for the national team and captained them to win the World Cup trophy, believes he is the suitable successor to Conte.
"I would very much like to become the national team coach," Cannavaro told Sky Italia.
"I know this is a tough job, but I spent 15 years with Italy. In my opinion, I have the experience required for this role and I also know the whole environment."
It is worth mentioning that the 42-year-old specialist has actually only coached Guangzhou Evergrande and Al-Nassr club in Saudi Arabia during his career.
