Amsterdam's "Ajax" star and arguably the biggest hope of Dutch football Frenkie de Jong already knows his next career stop.
The media in France and Catalonia are worried by reports that the 21-year-old footballer has decided to choose Paris's "Saint-Germain". He will not move to Paris this winter - an agreement was reached for the end of the season.
Journalist Gerard Romero, close to the "Barcelona" club, claims that F. de Jong rejected Barcelona's offer, even though they were favorites to acquire him. It is said that the Catalans did not guarantee him a starting position in the team, while at the same time PSG, in addition to promising him a place in the starting lineup, also offered a higher salary.
"Ajax" had previously informed other clubs that the price for F. de Jong was 75 million euros. Both PSG and "Barcelona" agreed to this amount, but the final word was left to the player himself.
F. de Jong was also linked to "Manchester City", but even there he was not promised a leading role. PSG should officially announce the deal in the coming days.
The versatile Dutchman, who has played for "Ajax" since 2016, has played 63 matches and scored five goals.
