Despite the mistakes made in the match against Portugal, Spanish national team coach Fernando Hierro assures that he trusts the main goalkeeper David De Gea.
The coach of the 2010 world champions also reassured fans by ensuring that the "Manchester United" player will remain in the Spanish starting lineup.
The 27-year-old footballer was once again voted the best goalkeeper in the Premier League last season, but due to his mistakes while wearing the national team jersey, he allowed not only Cristiano Ronaldo to score, but also missed a goal in a friendly match against the Swiss.
"I see David remaining very calm and he has the full confidence of all of us," Hierro said.
"Players always need support and trust, and my decision is very clear. I will be fair to everyone," he added.
"The team had a day off and it helped David to relax and disconnect, because in our preparation we are more interested in natural methods, ensuring that our minds are where they should be," Hierro continued.
De Gea will be able to recover in the Spanish match against Iran, which will take place on Wednesday.
