Former London "Chelsea" defender Frank Lampard believes that a poor start to the English champions' season is not just a coincidence.
Yesterday, the "aristocrats" conceded a goal from Marko Arnautovičius, losing 0-1 to "Stoke City" and suffering their seventh defeat.
The team defending the title only managed to secure 11 points in the first 12 rounds and found themselves just a step away from the relegation zone - in 16th place.
"This is far from a coincidence, they are losing regularly," Lampard said, according to Sky Sports.
"They need to quickly change their direction. They cannot sit still and must dig themselves out of this hole."
According to the 37-year-old Englishman, who now represents the "New York City" club in the MLS, in the same match against "Stoke," "Chelsea" did show some signs of recovery.
"I couldn't fault their performance. They just lacked a bit of luck to achieve a positive result."
