Madrird's "Real" president Florentino Perez held a special press conference on Thursday evening and stated that the club should not face sanctions because they were not informed about Denis Cheryshev's disqualification.
Yesterday, "Real" won 3-1 away against the "Cadiz" team, but their journey in the King's Cup could end after just the first match. Russian D. Cheryshev was included in the starting lineup, who last season playing for "Villarreal" received three yellow cards and was supposed to miss the upcoming King's Cup matches.
Due to such violation, the club must be immediately eliminated from the tournament, as was the case with Pamplona's "Osasuna" last season, which was removed from the King's Cup after a complaint from opponents. However, F. Perez does not believe that they might be expelled from the tournament and does not consider the club responsible for this situation.
"We can say that we were not informed about any sanctions against Denis," - said F. Perez. - As stated in article 41 of the RFEF disciplinary code, the club is not responsible if they were not informed about it."
"Real" was unaware of the player's disqualification. "We did not receive any information from either "Villarreal," Cheryshev, or the RFEF itself," added the president of the "white" club.
The fate of Madrid's "Real" club in the King's Cup will be revealed tomorrow.
