Madrinas "Real" president Florentino Perez called current team coach Rafa Benitez the best he has ever had and hinted that he surpasses former "royal" club strategist Jose Mourinho.
Portugal-led London "Chelsea" had a poor start to the season, immediately prompting speculation that the specialist would not stay long at the helm of the "aristocrats" team for a second time.
Nevertheless, if Mourinho were to lose his job in England, it is unlikely that his next career move would once again be Madrid.
"I have no intentions of bringing him (J. Mourinho - EuroFootball) back. Nevertheless, with him, we have definitely taken a step forward," Perez told Cadena COPE. "Until his arrival in Europe, we were unable to go beyond the quarterfinals, and that was not enough for us."
However, the "Real" president later downplayed the Portuguese's achievements by adding: "Benitez is the best coach I have had."
