Munich's "Bayern" legend Franck Ribery, giving an interview to French television, recalled his painful experience from childhood and the bullying he endured because of his scar.
34-year-old F. Ribery's journey to the top of football was not easy, but the Frenchman said that the scar on his face, which he got for life in a car accident at a very young age, toughened him as a person and only because of it he became a player with a strong character.
"This scar gave me strength and shaped my character so that I could deal with problems, because having a similar scar on the face at a very young age is not the easiest thing," - F. Ribery remembered his painful experience.
"People always looked at me differently, called me a freak, and laughed about it all. I felt the criticism from people who looked at me differently. My family suffered because of it, but I never cried about it - it didn't break me.
I suffered because as a child receiving such reactions from others is not the most pleasant thing, but I never went into a corner and cried about it. All these experiences shaped my character and I am happy with who I am now," - concluded the footballer.
F. Ribery has been playing for "Bayern" since 2007 and has already played more than 350 matches for the Bavarians.
