Today football fans will witness a true football classic - the teams of Portugal and Spain will face each other eye to eye in Group B matches.
Just before the World Cup, there were major changes in the Spanish national team - head coach Julen Lopetegui was dismissed from his position. The federation justified this decision by the fact that the strategist had agreed with Madrid's "Real" before the championship.
Portugal's national team coach Fernando Santos admitted that this decision surprised the entire football community, but it should not greatly affect the Spanish national team's game.
"Spain has been playing for about 10 years now. I don't think this will somehow affect the team's game," said F. Santos.
Portugal's national team midfielder Joao Moutinho also supported his coach: "Will it have a negative impact? I don't think so. Perhaps these changes will give them additional strength."
The clash between Portugal and Spain will begin at 9 PM today.
