London's "Chelsea" team secured a ticket to the next round. The "Blues" easily defeated "Nottingham Forest" in front of their own fans.
Both goals of the match were scored in the first half. Callum Hudson-Odoi put the hosts ahead initially, and Ross Barkley sealed the victory in the 33rd minute.
Meanwhile, London's "Tottenham" team, with their strongest lineup, will have to fight for a ticket to the next round. Jose Mourinho's players did not overcome the "Middlesbrough" team, who compete in the "Championship" tournament.
In the 50th minute, "Middlesbrough" gained the advantage in front of their own fans, but "Tottenham" was saved from an unexpected loss by Lucas Moura, who scored in the 61st minute.
The second leg matches will take place at the "Tottenham" stadium.
The remaining matches ended with "Crystal Palace" facing defeat and "Sheffield United" and "West Ham" teams advancing to the next round.
