FA Cup: "Everton" thrash QPR, "Man City" unable to beat "Blackburn" © EuroFootball.com

On Saturday in England, Football Association (FA) Cup third round matches were played.

In the earlier match, "Manchester City" club faced the second division team "Blackburn" away.

Manuel Pellegrini's team took the lead at the end of the first half, when striker Alvaro Negredo scored from close range.

Unexpectedly, at the start of the second half, the score became equal after Costilo Pantilimon's mistake and Scott Dunn's goal.

Approaching the end of the match, "Man City" defender Dedryck Boyata received his second yellow card, so the visitors had to finish the game with ten men.

Until the end of the match, neither team was able to score, resulting in a draw, meaning the teams will have to play a replay at the "Etihad" stadium.

A dramatic match unfolded between "Southampton" and one of the "Championship" leaders "Burnley". Mauricio Pochettino's team at home shared seven goals with the lower division opponents, with the hosts celebrating a 4-3 win.

"Newcastle" club unexpectedly suffered a home defeat, having to admit the superiority of "Cardiff City" with a score of 1-2. It was the first time the Welsh team was led by the new coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. "Aston Villa" also lost 1-2 to "Sheffield United" with the same result.

"Everton" club secured a crushing victory, not sparing "Queens Park Rangers" team. The "Toffees" scored four goals unanswered against QPR.

Meanwhile, "Leeds United" with Marius Žaliūkas had to withdraw from the FA Cup after a defeat away against "Rochdale" team. The Lithuanian played the entire match.

In the evening matches, fans were looking forward to the North London derby between "Arsenal" and "Tottenham" clubs.
