At 19:30 Lithuanian time in England, the last match of the 2016-17 season took place.
Two London teams, "Arsenal" against "Chelsea," battled for the FA Cup trophy at the "Wembley" stadium. Arsene Wenger saved his team's season - with a score of 2-1, he defeated the English champions and celebrated the only trophy of this season.
In the 4th minute, the "Gunners" took the lead with a goal from Alexis Sanchez, breaking through the opponent's penalty area after a highly controversial episode.
During the remaining time in the first half, "Chelsea" did not pose any threats to "Arsenal" - they did not create any dangerous opportunities that could have turned into an equalizing goal.
In the second half, Antonio Conte's students tried to salvage the situation, but Victor Moses, who received his second yellow card for simulation in the 68th minute, complicated matters.
Nevertheless, "Chelsea" did not give up, and in the 76th minute, their forward Diego Costa managed to score the equalizer.
However, "Arsenal" remained unfazed and regained the lead just three minutes later - Aaron Ramsey headed in the goal after a pass from Olivier Giroud.
Both teams did not score any more goals for the remainder of the match, so "Arsenal" emerged triumphant in the FA Cup final with a score of 2-1.
"Arsenal" won the FA Cup for the 13th time in the club's history. The last time the "Gunners" triumphed in this tournament was two years ago.
