On Monday, the fourth round FA Cup quarterfinal matches were played in England.
At the iconic "Old Trafford" stadium, spectators witnessed a clash between two English giants - "Manchester United" and London's "Arsenal." Arsene Wenger's pupils defeated the hosts after a fierce battle and advanced to the tournament semifinals.
The first half started actively from both teams. The "Red Devils" played slightly more aggressively and spent more time with the ball, but their efforts remained unrewarded.
In the 25th minute, after a great attack, the "Arsenal" players broke through. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain showcased top class and with a great pass contributed to Nacho Monreal's goal.
However, Louis van Gaal's team quickly responded, and just four minutes later the scoreboard showed 1-1. Angel Di Maria lifted the ball from the right wing towards the "gunners" penalty area, and Wayne Rooney took advantage of the opponents' hesitation and headed the ball into the net.
In the second half, there was no lack of battles and dangerous attacks. In the 61st minute, the visitors from London regained the lead when Danny Welbeck capitalized on a mistake by Antonio Valencia and scored the second goal of the match, which determined the winner.
Throughout the remaining time, the "gunners" had great chances to score, but once again miracles were performed by D. De Gea in the goal. It is worth mentioning that in the 77th minute, Angel Di Maria was sent off the pitch after receiving two yellow cards.
The FA Cup semifinal draws were made. It was revealed that "Arsenal" would face the winner of the "Bradford"/"Reading" pair at home, while "Aston Villa" would face the winner of the "Liverpool"/"Blackburn" pair.
