FA 'Šiauliai' club strengthened by a football player from Portugal

FA "Šiauliai" has added a midfielder from Portugal for the 2025 season – Bernando Neves de Jesus Gouveia da Silva.

The 23-year-old player, who plays in the central midfield position and is known as Benny, joins "Šiauliai" from his home country club "Sociedade União 1º Dezembro."

Benny began his football career at the well-known Lisbon youth academy "Benfica," where he represented various age group teams, and in 2020 moved to the Dutch club "Feyenoord." However, he only played in two matches for the U21 team and was loaned to the club "Dordrecht," which was then playing in the second tier of Dutch football.

After his time in the Netherlands, the player returned to his home country, where he joined the U23 team of "Famalicão" in the city of Famalikão. After a year, Benny moved on loan to "Real SC" in Kelus, where the midfielder played 24 matches and recorded 3 assists.

The last stop in Benny's career before arriving in the Sun City was the aforementioned club "Sociedade União 1º Dezembro" from Sintra, which competes in the third tier of Portuguese football, where he played 19 matches. Becoming the first Portuguese player in the history of FA "Šiauliai," Benny has also been called up to all youth national teams.
