FA 'Šiauliai' peacefully parted ways with Vilnius 'Riteriai'

“Topsport A league” in the 7th round, FA “Šiauliai” hosted “Riteriai” who arrived from the capital. The visitors managed to erase a two-goal deficit – the match ended with a score of 2:2 (1:0).

The two highest-scoring teams in the league started the match sluggishly. The first shot on target was made only in the 21st minute. However, it was accurate. Domantas Šimkus executed a powerful long-range shot that hit the top corner of the goal, putting the Šiauliai team ahead.

In the 31st minute, after a corner, Vytas Gašpuitis had a chance to score, but his header flew over the crossbar. “Riteriai” had several shots but failed to seriously threaten the goal defended by Gusto Baliutavičius.

The second half started off entirely differently – in the 51st minute, after a good pass from Danielius Romanovskis, Milanas Džokičius found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and successfully converted his chance, increasing the yellow and black team's lead.

After a longer silence, “Riteriai” loudly made their presence known. In the 62nd minute, Lazaras Sajčičius controlled the ball with his chest and, after unleashing a powerful long-range shot, scored an impressive goal.

With just a few minutes left until the end of regular time, Nikolo Vitorovičius' team managed to equalize. After a scramble in the penalty area, the ball fell conveniently to Axelis Galita, who directed it into the net in the 87th minute.

During added time, no one managed to score, and the match ended in a draw. Both teams shared a point – FA “Šiauliai” has 11 points, while Vilnius “Riteriai” has 9 points.
