The Spanish and Irish football community received sad news - this morning, 61-year-old Michael Robinson, who had been battling skin cancer for the past few years, passed away. He previously played for the Irish national team and clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Brighton, and elsewhere. Just before the end of his career in 1987, M. Robinson went to play in Spain for the Osasuna club in Pamplona. Upon arriving in Spain, M. Robinson immediately became a beloved figure in the country and lived here until his death. After retiring, M. Robinson became a football expert on various Spanish radio and television programs. He created documentary film series "Informe Robinson" where he interviewed many prominent football figures. M. Robinson was diagnosed with melanoma at the end of 2018. The cancer was already advanced, so doctors immediately announced that the disease was incurable.
