Football fans believe that Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of the Portugal national team, may have gone too far.
In yesterday's European Championship qualifying match, Portugal led 4-0 away against a weak Luxembourg team, but the striker tried to outsmart the referee and simulated a foul during a quick attack.
However, the referee did not fall for it and showed the veteran a yellow card.
After the match, where Portugal crushed their opponents 6-0 and C. Ronaldo scored two goals, internet users were amazed by such behavior from the footballer.
"Even when leading 4-0 against Luxembourg, he still tried to deceive the referee and get opponents players sent off," wrote one fan.
"Only someone shameless can behave like this against a national team of such a level," another replied.
