Fantastic goal by V. Kompany brought "Man City" closer to the Premier League title

On Monday night, the last 37th round match of the English Premier League, which attracted a lot of interest, took place.

For the second consecutive year, aiming for the championship title, Manchester City hosted Leicester, who had been on a winning streak. Throughout the match, the "Foxes" team, which played defensively and raised tension at the Etihad Stadium, did not give any gifts to the Liverpool team - a fantastic strike from around 25 meters by Vincent Kompany led the "City" to a very important victory.

Throughout the first half, Leicester played compactly in defense. Man City dominated possession but did not have many dangerous opportunities. The only real chance came after a corner kick, when Sergio Aguero headed the ball towards the opponent's goalpost.

In the second half, Man City's pressure only increased, but the Foxes defense continued to look flawless. Several times, the visitors were saved by Kasper Schmeichel, who defended dangerous shots from David Silva and Sergio Aguero.

The decisive moment came in the 70th minute of the match - V. Kompany approached the opponent's defense, looked around, and, not finding anyone to pass the ball to, unexpectedly released a shot from a long distance, which possibly brought the title through a goal. K. Schmeichel was powerless against the Belgian's shot, after which the ball flew straight into the top corner of the goal.

During the remaining time, the Foxes continued to test the nerves of Man City fans, but they were unable to take the points away from the English champions.

Man City returned to the first position and with a victory next weekend against Brighton will secure their second consecutive country champions title. Liverpool's team must win their match and hope for an unlikely miracle from Brighton.
