Farewell to Lopetegui? "Levante" defeats Madrid's "Real" on their own field

On Saturday, four matches of the 9th round of the Spanish "La Liga" championship are being played.

They tragically unfolded for Julen Lopetegui's led Madrid "Real" club once again. At the beginning of the match, the "whites" conceded two goals, registering the biggest goal drought in the club's history and suffering their third defeat in the last three matches in Spain - 1:2.

For Madrid "Real" team, victory in this duel was as necessary as water in the desert - they hadn't won the last four matches, but the start of the meeting didn't lead to a good outcome.

Already in the 6th minute, Raphael Varane missed his opponent and after escaping from the Frenchman, Jose Morales put "Levante" ahead, after previously slipping the ball past Thibaut Courtois.

The chaos of the Madrid "Real" team continued - in the 13th minute, after VAR review, a penalty was awarded, earned by none other than R. Varane. Marti Roger took advantage of this opportunity and gave "Levante" a two-goal advantage.

It was a complete tragedy at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, but during the remaining time of the first half, the hosts could score at least two goals. Once a goal was not counted for offside after VAR review, later Mariano Diaz shook the goal frame.

In the second half, Madrid "Real" finally scored the long-awaited goal in the 72nd minute - after a pass from Karim Benzema, Marcelo left no chances for the goalkeeper.

In the remaining time, Madrid "Real" dominated and hit the goal post several times, but luck was on "Levante's" side - victory with a score of 2:1. In this match, the "whites" took as many as 34 shots, 12 of which flew into the goal area, while "Levante" hit the goal area exactly twice.

Real, who has been unable to achieve victory for some time now, may soon make changes - there is talk of Julen Lopetegui's dismissal.

After a successful performance, "Levante" moved up to seventh place.
