FBK "Kaunui" will be led by a Bulgarian © EuroFootball.com

The Lithuanian champion FBK has a new head coach. Today after lunch, the team was introduced to 42-year-old Bulgarian football specialist Angel Chervenkov. Recently, he worked as an assistant coach to Plamen Markov, the coach of Sofia's CSKA team.

Today we introduced a new strategist to the team. Why did "Kaunas" decide to change coaches? The team was dissatisfied with their performance. They played poorly during the Baltic League matches against Narva's "Trans". The people of Kaunas also looked weak during the A League match against Visaginas' "Inter". Later, the team barely managed to beat "Siauliai" at home, and on Sunday, we played a draw against the footballers from "Vilnius". That's why coaches Vladimir Kurnevas and Eugenijus Riabovas were relieved of their duties," said Gintaras Ugianskis, the president of "Kaunas" club.

According to him, both coaches were offered to stay in the club. "There is a reserve team, "Kaunas Hunters", Kaunas football school. There is plenty of work. However, if other clubs offer them a job, we will not object," said G. Ugianskis.

The president of "Kaunas" club said that it is still unknown who will be A. Chervenkov's assistant. "There is a goalkeeper coach Arturas Ramoska, he will advise. During the match with Klaipeda's "Atlantas", our team will already be led by new coaches," said G. Ugianskis.

"I am in Lithuania for the first time. When I received an invitation from "Kaunas", I wanted to see how the club works, what kind of team it is. After seeing it, I immediately agreed. I saw "Kaunas" playing against "Vilnius". There are good footballers in the team. I think they need more tactical training. Then the team will play better. It will take a lot of work," said A. Chervenkov.

When asked if he was afraid of becoming the strategist of a team prepared by other coaches, the Bulgarian replied: "I think the team is well prepared, and any shortcomings can be corrected. I will start working from tomorrow."
