The head coach Fabio Capello of Juventus named striker David Trezeguet the "best" after he scored both goals in the Italian club's 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
D. Trezeguet put the hosts ahead and, although Sebastian Deisler later equalized, he scored the winning goal in the 85th minute.
"In the penalty area he has few rivals in the world just because of his vigor and shot," Capello said after the match. "I say he is the best right now."
"It was a tough match against a very strong team - it wasn't easy to beat them," Capello said. "They are very dangerous from set pieces, as they proved with a dangerous shot and later a goal."
"I am very happy with the result against a very, very strong team, which I think will cause problems for everyone they play against," praised the former AS Roma coach.
The Juventus coach even made an unexpected decision and substituted the hesitant Mauro Camoranesi on the field after just 18 minutes.
"Camoranesi looked nervous and couldn't get into the game, so I replaced him with Adrian Mutu," explained the Italian.
The Bayern Munich coach Felix Magath was satisfied with the game and his team's performance: "As expected, it was a tough match in Turin. We played well, but Juventus managed to play slightly better and they deserve the win. I am satisfied with the team's performance, just sorry for the missed chances."
