F.Capello: "Juventus" lacks competition in Italy club © EuroFootball.com

Russia's national team strategist Fabio Capello is convinced that Serie A is not competitive enough.

The specialist, who coached Juventus for two years, claims that Italian clubs will not be able to win the UEFA Champions League because there is not enough competition in the country's championship.

"The Italian championship is not competitive. Roma, Napoli, and Fiorentina sold Erik Lamela, Edinson Cavani, and Stevan Jovetic to foreign teams."

"Meanwhile, Juventus acquired Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez, so the gap between clubs has grown even more," the 67-year-old coach said.

Only one club from Italy - Milan - will represent the country in the Champions League quarter-finals, but F. Capello believes that Madrid's Atletico are the favorites in the pair with Rossoneri.

"I think Bayern, Barcelona, Real, and Chelsea will play in the semi-finals. Atletico and Milan are the favorites in the pair, but Balotelli, Kaka, and Pazzini's individual actions can lead the team to victory," the coach said.
