F.Capello not receiving money from Russians: I will never give up

Russian national team coach Fabio Capello and his unpaid salary - an unsolvable issue for the Russian football community. Discussions in the country escalated to a new level when the 68-year-old football specialist from Italy sent a letter to the media (in Russian), outlining his thoughts on resignation, unpaid salary, and the future of Russian football.

The Russian media, not hiding their dissatisfaction with the coach, called this letter "Decembrist theses".

Here are some of the most interesting excerpts from the Russian national team coach's letter:

"I have never raised the issue of the salary delayed by six months. I became the coach of the Russian national team because I believed in the future of this project and in achieving the set goals. At this moment, I believe even stronger in the ultimate success, as I have become better acquainted with Russian culture and the country's football now more closely.

I did not go to Russia for a solid contract. When I signed it with the federation, I had other very attractive offers.

However, I want to emphasize that working without receiving a salary for so long is abnormal.

Just returning from abroad to Russia, I must say that I constantly received the same question: "What is happening? Why are you not being paid?"

Of course, this does not contribute to improving the image of football worldwide, considering the tense geopolitical situation.

I heard someone saying: "Capello does not believe in the future of Russian football".

I would never say that!!! I said that Russian football must grow to become even more competitive in European and world championships.

[...]

Why didn't I resign after the World Cup in Brazil?

Because resignation at that time would have meant that I gave up and accepted defeat.

I will never give up. As a coach, I have achieved many victories. The greatest satisfaction comes when, after a negative result, you do not give up, fight with even greater energy, so that the result is even better. That's what I am preparing to do."
