Rio Ferdinand announced that he wants to stay at the club until the end of his career, so he wouldn't refuse to extend his contract.
The current contract of the England national team captain, who has been plagued by injuries this season, is valid for another two years.
"I want to stay here until the end of my career," Ferdinand told the Daily Telegraph. "I think a four-year contract would be a great option if the manager agrees."
Ferdinand moved to Manchester in 2002 from Leeds for more than 30 million euros.
