In the match between Rotterdam's "Feyenoord" and "Lille", three own goals were scored, setting a new Champions League record.

The Dutch vice-champions became the first team to suffer such misfortune in the history of the Champions League/European Cup.

The 30-year-old Austrian defender Gernot Trauner, who scored two own goals, also entered the history books. No player had previously scored two own goals in a single Champions League match.

"Feyenoord" lost 1:6 to the "Lille" team, but still secured a place in the knockout stages.
