The president of the French Football Federation (FFF) Noël Le Graetas has rejected the idea of Zinedine Zidane becoming the coach of the national team.
It is worth reminding that the French football legend unexpectedly found himself without a job when he announced he was leaving the Madrid "Real" team, which he led to the top of the UEFA Champions League three times in a row.
Immediately after that, it was speculated that Zidane would be a candidate to replace Didier Deschamps if he does not succeed in the 2018 World Cup, but the president of the country's football federation is prepared to work with the latter until the end of his contract.
"Zidane may sign a contract with 'Juventus' tomorrow, no one knows his next steps," commented Le Graetas on the situation regarding the coach's future. "I was surprised just like you when I heard about his decision, but let's not create unnecessary debate about Zidane and Deschamps."
"Didier is preparing for the World Cup. We recently signed a contract until 2020. Fortunately, we did it - imagine what would have happened otherwise. It is important to be fully secure.
We will not discuss Zidane's work for the next few years. Of course, we will talk to him if he agrees, but Deschamps will stay at least until 2020," Le Graetas added.
