In the ongoing World Cup in Russia, the quarterfinal matches will begin this Saturday, where losing teams will end their performance in the tournament, according to lrt.lt

There are 16 of the most important matches left to be played in the World Cup. In the group stage, 122 goals were scored in 48 matches, an average of 2.5 goals per game.

2.2 million fans have already visited the stadiums.

10 teams from Europe, four from South America, and one each from Asia and North America have reached the quarterfinals. All five representatives from Africa have gone home.

This Saturday, the quarterfinals are being criticized for lackluster play - the talent-filled France will face the Argentina team that narrowly escaped at the last moment, while Uruguay, who won all three matches, will face the pragmatic European champion Portugal.

Other matchups: Spain - Russia, Croatia - Denmark, Brazil - Mexico, Belgium - Japan, Sweden - Switzerland, and Colombia - England. 8 teams will advance to the quarterfinals after winning their matches.
