FIFA confirmed corruption in organizing two world championships

On Wednesday, FIFA released an official statement stating that votes were bought for the right to host the World Cup in 1998 and 2010.

According to the information, in 1998 the votes were illegally collected to host the World Cup in France and in 2010 in the Republic of South Africa.

FIFA's statement also revealed an interesting detail related to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It turns out that members of the FIFA executive committee received up to 10 million dollars in bribes from South Africa before voting on who would host the tournament.

Currently, 42 individuals are detained in the FIFA corruption case.
