FIFA has made a strict decision - the organization has suspended referee Joseph Lamptey from Ghana until further notice.
The referee will not only have to part ways with the whistle, but he is also banned from any football-related activity both in his home country and internationally.
Lamptey was found guilty for his actions in a 2018 World Cup qualifying match between South Africa and Senegal, which took place last November.
The referee awarded a highly questionable penalty kick to the Senegalese team and made other suspicious decisions.
Until now, the African had worked not only in his country's league, but also gained experience in the Rio Olympic Games.
