The International Football Federation FIFA has announced a ban on the "Barcelona" club from holding an official presentation of Luis Suarez to the fans.
According to FIFA press representative Delia Fisher, such activity is directly related to football and cannot be carried out, as the Uruguayan player is subject to disciplinary sanctions.
L. Suarez will have to miss 9 matches with the Uruguayan national team and is suspended from football for 4 months. This punishment was imposed on the player for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup match.
Earlier, FIFA rejected appeals from the Uruguayan Football Federation and the player himself and upheld the imposed sanction.
"Player presentations are public events directly related to football, and L. Suarez cannot participate in such events. He is prohibited from any football-related activities," emphasized D. Fisher.
L. Suarez is still consulting with his lawyers and is expected to file a lawsuit with the International Court of Arbitration for Sport. If the decision is negative, the player will only be able to start playing again at the beginning of October.
