Diego Simeone's team at camp - bad news.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected Madrid's "Atletico" club's appeal regarding the transfer ban imposed by FIFA a year and a half ago.
This means that "Atletico" will not be able to participate in the player transfer window this summer, and the ban will be in effect until January 2018. Of course, the "rojiblancos" will still be able to acquire players this summer, but they won't be able to compete with them in the team until the new year.
"Atletico" club was banned from transfers for illegally signing contracts with underage players.
Similar transfer bans were also received by the Spanish giants "Barcelona" and Madrid's "Real". The latter won the fight against FIFA this winter - CAS upheld their appeal.
This could be very painful news for "Atletico" coach, D. Simeone, who may lose Antoine Griezmann this summer. The Madrid team is already looking at Alexandre Lacazette and Diego Costa.
