"France Football" magazine will no longer cooperate with the International Football Federation Association (FIFA) in selecting the best football player for the prestigious "Ballon d'Or" award. The French magazine will choose the best football player in the world itself, while FIFA may return to the "World Player of the Year" award. "France Football" started the "Ballon d'Or" selection in 1956, but in 2010 FIFA and the magazine's selections were merged into one. It seems that next year there will once again be two separate selections, as the new FIFA president Gianni Infantino wants to strengthen the power of his organization.
