FIFA organization is intensively preparing not only for the World Cup in Qatar at the end of this year. The world football leaders are also focusing on the 2026 football fiesta, which will be held in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. It has already been confirmed that a record number of teams - even 48 - will participate in this prestigious event. Initially, it was planned that there would be 16 groups, each with three national teams. However, it seems that FIFA may have taken into account the fans' criticism and the potential confusion over tickets for the knockout matches. It is announced that FIFA is actively considering simplifying the format - there would be 12 groups with four teams each in the World Cup.
