FIFA is gearing up to shake up the European club football world and is preparing to introduce a new tournament featuring the best teams in Europe, according to Sky Sports. It is reported that FIFA is preparing to organize a tournament with 18 teams, with a staggering $6 billion budget. According to reports, FIFA has already been in talks with more than 12 European clubs, including two English giants - Manchester United and current champions Liverpool. Currently, the tournament organizers are also in discussions with undisclosed clubs from Spain, Italy, Germany, and France. According to Sky Sports sources, in the tournament, 18 teams would play a regular season, after which the top teams would continue their battle in knockouts. The victorious teams in the tournament would receive an impressive monetary prize worth hundreds of millions of euros. According to the same sources, apart from Liverpool and Man Utd, at least four more Premier League clubs - Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Tottenham - are interested in joining the new league. However, for now, England has been allocated only five spots in this tournament. Clubs agreeing to participate in the creation of the new league would receive substantial prizes from FIFA. It is said that the new tournament could potentially end the existence of the UEFA Champions League. FIFA aims to start organizing the new tournament from 2022.
