ithout war between the Ukrainian army and the Russia-backed separatists in Eastern Ukraine, the whole world is increasingly focused on the host of the 2018 World Cup, Russia. This event is a primary target for those fighting against Russia. A petition has been started online with the goal of moving the World Cup to the Netherlands.

The author of the petition website, Andrea Chalupa, who lives in New York, wrote: "The World Cup promotes peace and fights against racism. Putin proudly stands for opposite values. The Netherlands wanted to host the 2018 World Cup and they deserve it".

The organizers of the petition also created a website boycottputinnow.com, where news is shared and people are encouraged not to buy products from the sponsors of the 2018 World Cup ("Budweiser", "Kia", "Sony", etc.)

The Netherlands along with Belgium were contenders to host the 2018 World Cup, but they finished in third place in the voting.

In the first round of voting, England with the fewest points was eliminated, and in the second round, Russia won with 13 votes. Portugal and Spain received 7 votes, while the Netherlands and Belgium received 2.

The World Cup should take place in eleven Russian cities - Moscow (2 stadiums), Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Samara, Saransk, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don and Yekaterinburg.
