An unexpected result was recorded in Catalonia, where "Girona", supported by their fans, defeated the country's champions, Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane's students took the lead in the match, but the "Girona" footballers, who looked better than the visitors throughout the game, secured a victory with a score of 2-1. From the beginning of the match, "Girona" demonstrated an aggressive game and did not allow the visitors from Madrid to think about easy ball control. In the 12th minute, "Girona" hit the crossbar, but just a few seconds later, Real organized a quick attack, during which Isco led the "white" team ahead. However, after the goal, Real seemed completely "stuck" and did not create any dangerous opportunities. Meanwhile, the opponents shook the construction of Kiko Casilla's defended goal once again before the end of the first half. In the second half, "Girona" team eventually broke through the opponents' goal - Cristian Stuani equalized the score with a great strike in the 54th minute. As if that weren't enough, in the 58th minute, Real conceded a penalty from their own goal for the second time in the match - Portu sent the Spanish champions to the canvas with his goal. After two goals, "Girona" retreated to defense and Zidane's students completely failed to create dangerous attacks. "Girona" celebrated a victory, which certainly brightened the mood of all of Catalonia, especially the fans in Barcelona. After the defeat, Real increased their gap from "Barcelona" to 8 points. This is one of the worst starts to a season for Real in the history of the country's championships. In other matches, Madrid's "Getafe" defeated "Real Sociedad" after a frantic battle, "Eibar" and "Levante" ended in a draw, and "Malaga" achieved their first victory of the season.
