As the talks about his candidacy to become the new FIFA president are increasing, Argentina's national team legend Diego Maradona has promised to take on the "mafia" that has formed within the organization.
The football icon says he has the support of several players.
"There are footballers who support me. I have to fight against those people who have been stealing from FIFA for a long time," Maradona told Canal America.
"I will come to FIFA. For sure. I have to fight the mafia. I must fight against the mafia that still exists within the organization."
"I tell all Argentinians that I am strong and will not back down."
UEFA president Michel Platini and Chung Mong-joon from South Korea have already put forward their candidacies to replace former president Sepp Blatter.
