St. Petersburg's "Zenit" hopes to acquire the services of "Man Utd" midfielder Nani were dashed by the Portuguese player's financial demands, as reported by the English press.
A few days ago, the Russian team rocked the football market by acquiring Lisbon's "Benfica" midfielder Axel Witsel and "Porto" forward Hulk for a total of 80 million euros, but landing the Portuguese national team member Nani seems unlikely.
"I can confirm that we were negotiating with Nani and Joao Moutinho, but Witsel and Hulk were always our main priorities," said "Zenit" director Maxim Mitrofanov.
As of now, the negotiations for a new contract with "Man Utd" are stalling for the 25-year-old Nani, as the club is unwilling to meet his demands of a weekly salary of 164 thousand euros.
Meanwhile, sources close to the player claim that he does not feel happy in Manchester, as he does not receive enough support.
