The former Italian football giant club can earn the right to play in the country's top league again next season, because they won the first playoff match against. Two years ago, "Fiorentina" went bankrupt due to huge debts and a new club named "Florentia Viola" was created, which was supposed to participate in the "Serie-C2" championship. With its long-standing traditions, the club managed to form a new team during the season, enter the higher "C1" division and buy back its old name. At that time, "Serie-B" was expanding and Italian football leaders decided to allocate one spot in it for the Florence club. Things also went well here - this year "Fiorentina" finished in sixth place, which allowed them to play playoffs against the "Perugia" club which finished fourth from the bottom in "Serie-A". Such playoffs are taking place for the first time, as there will be 20 teams in the league starting from the next season.
