In a small crisis, the management of the club decided to fulfill the request of the new coach Dino Zoff to strengthen the team and added two players from the Italian youth national team - forward Gianpaolo Pazzini and on-loan midfielder Marco Donadel.
20-year-old Pazzini, who played in Serie A for another team, signed a five-year contract with Fiorentina and is considered one of the most promising young talents in Italy. Fiorentina paid 6 million euros for him and loaned out midfielder Giannì Guigou from Uruguay.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Donadel, who belongs to the Italian champions, was loaned out to another team this season but didn't establish himself there. So now Fiorentina has loaned him with the option to buy his contract at the end of the season.
