The club management has been pressuring Muller for some time, stating that if the results do not improve, he will be dismissed, and eventually club president Gervais Martel decided to make this decision.
The club president was prompted to make this decision by the team's tragic recent results - the "Ligue 1" team has lost its third consecutive match and dropped to 14th position, also being eliminated from the French Cup tournament with a crushing 0-3 defeat.
Until a replacement for Muller is found, former assistant coach Francis Gillot will temporarily take over the club's coaching duties.
